Labour Party says it’s wrong for army to kill the enemy

in Islamism by

Labour MP Dan Jarvis has criticised the Defence Secretary’s promise to kill returning jihadis, “Soldiers are taught that for force to have legitimacy it must: distinguish between those who pose a threat and those who do not.”

Jarvis’s dismissal of the threat jihadis pose shows how he is out of touch with reality. A paper, written by Richard Barrett, a former director of global counter-terrorism at MI6, said: “While returning foreign fighters have not as yet added significantly to the threat of terrorism around the world, the number of attacks inspired or directed by the Islamic State continues to rise.

Around 850 UK-linked individuals “of national security concern” made the journey to the jihadists’ crumbling “caliphate” in Syria and Iraq, with just under half of those believed to have come back. These people want you and I dead. Their return increases the likelihood of a terror attack; very likely a surge in violent deaths in Britain.

Sue Hemming, the Crown Prosecution Service’s head of counter-terrorism, said her team had doubled in size to cope with “cases emerging from Syria” and the rise of Islamic State, as well as the recent attacks here. But she said even more lawyers were required.

Barrett continues, “All returnees, whatever their reason for going home, will continue to pose some degree of risk.”

(Sally Jones, who is believed to have been killed, had been plotting terror attacks in Britain)

Richard Inman of Veterans Against Terrorism has criticised the suggestions that jihadis be granted council homes, and said that they should be sent back to Syria to face trial for their crimes.

Luke Nash-Jones, Director of The People’s Charter Foundation, stated, “The Labour Party are a bunch of nutters, in cloud cuckooo land, who want to abolish nuclear warheads. Corbyn thought the answer to ISIS was a cup of tea. The cowardice must stop! Anyone found through fair trial to be a returning jihadi, to have committed treason, should face a firing squad, should get a bullet to the head.”

Jarvis on the other hand seems ever keen to virtue signal to impress the liberal elite. He continued, “It is right that the International Criminal Court investigate claims that British soldiers committed war crimes against detainees in Iraq.”
