We have to wonder how serious Henry Bolton is about Brexit when we consider that he stood in the 2005 general election as the candidate for Britain’s most pro-EU party, the Liberal Democrats. He stood in the Surrey seat of Runnymede and Weybridge AGAINST the UKIP candidate.
The election listings are clearly visible on the BBC website.
He even stated that he passionately believes in Liberal Democrat principles. Hence, it may be no surprise then that in his leadership candidacy videos he specifically states that he feels left-wing policies must not be considered but judged on merit!
At the moment, the greatest threat to Britain is political correctness, or more accurately, “cultural Marxism”, which has eroded our national identity. At the forefront of the promotion of such postmodernist propaganda and “positive liberty”, i.e. “progressivism”, were the LibDems, which of all the parties, Henry found a great passion for.
You could understand if someone inspired by Mogg or Thatcher thought the Tories were actually Conservative, or thought Labour stood for the working class, but who in their right mind would deem Sir Menzies Campbell to be the saviour of Western civilisation?
Therefore, Bolton, while an incredible orator, and holding perhaps incredible experience in negotiation, is clearly a supporter of the decay of Western civilisation, or we would suggest, just politically naive. In either case, while he may have certainly great skills, at this stage, a political visionary and leader he is not.
